www.earthship.org/

According to the information on this site, I would estimate the first building would cost an approximate 15-25k with all subsequent houses costing 5-15k, not including labor costs because we jedi can handle that. And that is for there biggest building, the three bedroom. Provided we had a few acres (a couple dozen would be ideal) we could pop up dozens of these, and provided we had someone working with us with architectural knowledge, we could modify there existing blueprint to build different buildings to suit or needs. Large one room buildings for dojo/gym and council chambers. Buildings with many rooms for living quarters. We could even dedicate a couple buildings to be entirely indoor crop gardens, which when combined with the crops at the other buildings could make up the vast majority of our vegetable, fruit and grains we need, and im sure this idea could even be converted to make a earthship barn for livestock. not saying all this would be easy, but in my opinion with some ingenuity some hard work. And some cash. 500k would be great, 200k would be a start. Still a large goal, but much more attainable, and these all those funds would not be neccesary up front.

Once again, maybe I'm crazy but this seems doable to me.

Hey everyone, don't know if this has been said off thread but one way we could reduce cost signicantly with this earth ship plan is to do as they say and have their workers train our workers. By this I mean we pay for their workers to come out (once we have a property for them to come out too of course) and build a regular house style building with some Jedi volunteer workers. Then once we have the knowledge of how to build these buildings we can use that knowledge to build more regular house style buildings or a larger temple style building. Our cost is severely reduced down to essentialy just supply costs, which since it seems the houses are made of mostly dirt, tires, pop cans and concrete thats fairly inexpensive. we wouldn't even have to worry about living expenses for the jedi volunteer workers because everything they need to survive is in the first home (in theory at least).

Also with some "creative marketing" this has the potential to both turn a profit for us, to fund our building, and at the same time allow us to help those in need. Once we have the know how to build these buildings, we could organize building projects in impovershed areas. This itself doesn't turn a profit but it would qualify us as a very good charity (provided we fill out the proper forms before hand), which opens us up to donations and government funding and things of that sort. All while fufilling our duty as Jedi.

Maybe I'm crazy but thats my thoughts on this, great find duro:)

Yes, I believe it falls on the same day as national towel day, or at least it did this year. Sadly I forgot about it until it was to late, and ended up going to work without my wonderful towel. :(

Johnny, please elaborate more on how you feel that would help. Because from my perspective, that would be refusal, and thus end all 20 peoples lives. Perhaps I am missing a piece of your logic however. Thank you for reviving this thread, haven't seen it in ages.

Clone Wars Movie? Like the animated series, but in movie form? SWEET! As if the tv series wasn't good enough, now we're gonna get a new Movie too! I believe this calls for celebration!

Hey that reminds me, when does the tv show start airing? Isn't it sometime in the summer on the sci-fi channel?

This is a very good read, for the newest apprentice to the oldest Master. It's long, but worth every moment. I must say that I agree with Master Merin. each religion has it's own Myth, and it is the Myths that call to us. For christians, there Myths stem from the bible. For Islams, the Qu'ran. For Jedi, Star Wars. All are just stories. Whether they are true or not is irrelevant, it is the lessons they teach that matter. Well done Master Merin, you deserve a Jedi Treat for this one. :)
