By the way ... we can't lose SARCASM. I'm identified by my wit. It's all that I have!

arrogance - Although I believe that I am the shiznit, I don't think that's arrogance, that's just FACT. (OK, I'm screwed here)

greed - Of this, I am clear. Money DOES NOT mean happiness.

immaturity - Guilty

lack of compassion - For whom?

the inability to see things from others' point of view - I'm good here.

stubborness - I'm not stubborn! Even though I'm the Red Foreman of my family.

sarcasm - I'm guilty as sin here! LOL

recklessness - I think I'm good here too.

shamelessness - Does farting in public count?

corruption - I'm too self-righteous to be corrupt.

inhumanity - I'm clear here.

evil towards others - Define "others."

selfishness - Not guilty.

excessive pride - Damn. I've got alot to be proud of.

disdain - Again ... for whom?

dishonesty - They don't call me "Brutal Truth" for nothin'...

OK, so I'm 10 for 16 on these. Does that mean I fail?

I like this. Honest self-assessment is important.

Yeah, and the first time someone lases a passing aircraft with one while plaing around in the yard, all bets are off. Stick to the FX sabers. They're nicer, and Homeland Security won't be staking out your crib (unless you're Kyp, then Homeland is already there LOL).

Ever notice that you can spend an entire day building a model or something and within a fraction of a second, you can destroy it? It's like anger and happiness. It's easy to stay angry, whereas one has to put forth effort to achieve happiness. There's satisfaction in achieving a goal, but is there really any satisfaction in destroying or doing nothing at all except hating and being angry?

Destroyers are never content. They keep destroying until there is nothing left to destroy. They have achieved nothing more than devastation, and are no more happy than they were than when they started.

I know I just came waaaaay out of left field with this, but I think it relates to the code and light vs. dark.

'Nuff said.

Anyone interested in going, PM me with a contact number. I'll open my home to a few folks since I'll be living in Orlando.

Put it like this... my previous unit was a combat ready force. We were damn good too. You know what these jackasses did? If you are a ground pounder being led by an Air Force officer... May the Force REALLY be with you

You know I shouldn't laugh at this but I did. When I was an 18 yr old I almost joined, I'm now glad I didn't. Serving my country would have been an honor. Getting led in to a gun fight by a cook may not have been. What do they watch too many Steven Segal movies? This is not isolated to the armed forces. My pops was a postal inspector and he always complained that they'd pass over people that were perfect for the job and always seemed to go with the LEAST competent. I don't get why.

Government. That's how they roll. I've been conversing with my cousin's fiance via email. He's a Canadian citizen and I have been inquiring as to how to become a Canadian citizen myself. Don't get me wrong. I love my country, but I just can't deal with most of the people in it. As time goes on, I think the American people will continue to prove the rest of the world right. They don't like us. As a whole, we concern ourselves with petty things, and continue to divide ourselves based on special interests and cultural specifications. Nobody's just an American anymore. It's either AFRICAN American, or HISPANIC American, or ITALIAN American, or ASIAN American, or GAY American and so on. I think the only people who have the right to have a prefix are the ones who were here first... NATIVE Americans. Because of this division our nation is lacking in progress. It shows everywhere you go. Our arrogance knows no bounds. Look at our new enlistees in the military. 18 years old, and they can't be told anything. And because of the new "kinder, gentler" approach, they can't be slapped down when they get out of control. I'll never forget a few years back. I had a new troop and he was one very sensitive individual. He was also a screw up. I chewed him up and down daily. He finally confronted me about it.

"You have no soul." he said to me. "You don't know how this makes me feel when you yell at me."

To which I replied...

"Did I hurt your feelings? Are you sad? Are you going to waste anymore of my time being sensitive? Did I tell you that you could have feelings? Did I ask you to SHARE those feelings with me?" After which he started to tear up...

"What I DID ask of you was to have your gear squared away. I asked you to post out with your required equipment. I asked you to have proper reading material. Did you do any of that in accordance with the instructions I provided you? NO! You didn't."

Guess what. I ended up getting a stern a$$ chewing from my first sergeant about this exchange. Why? Because this new generation of adults are soft. They are the "me" generation. It's in the military, the workplace, the entertainment idustry... America has become infected by the self-absorbed.

Could you imagine what a disaster D-Day would have been if we relied on the young men of this generation to storm those beaches in Normandy?

Time for Jimbo to move on. I can't bear to watch what my country is becoming.

I'm a civilian folks!!! That's right... your friendly neighborhood Mando has traded in his beret and rifle for school. In Orlando too. Problem ... my school is 66 weeks long and I have no money to get there as of right now and no prospects for a home yet. Oh well. I've overcome worse! Anyway, I know I'll miss the military life and all that. Especially my friends. The minute they all ship out on their next deployment I'll wish I was with them. I know I will. As of right now, I'm doing nothing. Seriously. My house is practically empty since we plan on selling it while my wife is in Iraq. Yeah, she's still in and hopefully getting out when she comes back from the sandbox. She's not looking forward to the struggle we'll face as new civilians. There was a comfort level that came with being in the military. So I gotta ask guys like Gavin and Garth ... how are you two holding up? I'm literally scared to death! Once I get going in school with my GI Bill and working a job, I'll feel better, but right now it's like the great unknown. I had a plan, but as we know the best plans fall apart, and that goes for my Plan B as well.

Maybe I should start my own little journal here and document the next few months....
