I would love to participate, the timing is just a bit off for me because I worked all last week, have exam on Wednesday and going to visit someone from Wednesday to sunday night.

I was gonna reply in this thread earlier, but last week was too hectic. Sundays are generally a good day, except I work most sundays when I don't go home to visit my family and help my mum out. But I'd love to participate any sunday's I'm actually available :) It's a great idea :)

I agree that the overthinking one is more likely due to anxiety. That and depression can go hand in hand though. True depression hasn't necessarily so much to do with what we think, although thoughts definitely affect emotions and vica versa. But for many, depression is about bodily chemistry issues causing one to be in a state of being where one is easier influenced by negative thinking, find they no pleasure from things they'd normally enjoy and is described more as an empty, dark vacuum than being filled with negative thoughts.

I remember back in my early 20s when my depression was at its worst. I wasn't thinking negative thoughts. I wasn't feeling sad or down. There was no overwhelming sadness. What it was, was a big, pitch black feeling of nothing. It was just pure darkness. No enjoyment, no wants, no needs, just nothing. It's like sitting at the bottom of a deep, dark well; you can't see anything around you and nothing really feels like it matters. You could wither away slowly, and you wouldn't care. I feel like that's when depression is at its worst and scariest, at least in hindsight. Because if you're feeling depressed, then you're still healthy enough to recognize what you're feeling and have a need to change it to something more enjoyable. When you're truly in the pit, you feel no need to change anything; nothing matters anymore. You're consumed by the emptiness.

But yeah, anxiety definitely can lead to overthinking, obsessive thinking, racing thoughts; and play side by side with a minor depression. The two can play quite efficiently well with each other, and really do a good job of steering someone in the wrong direction.

I disagree with the self-esteem one too. I've known some utterly confident people who prefer to lay low and affect things in more subtle ways. And then I've met the loud insecure shouters who can't seem to get by unless they get their egos affirmed by having everyone listening to their shouting.

***
And the women and secrets one is just misogynistic. I am actually excellent at secrets, thank you very much, lol. I don't like secrets, but if I gotta have one I can keep it until the grave :P

No one born blind has ever developed schizophrenia.

That one was very interesting, but I'd have to see sources to buy it. Cause only a very small portion of people with schizophrenia has visual hallucinations, auditory hallucinations are much more common.

Hadn't drawn anything since I hurt my neck, since I find it hard to do things in new ways and I can't sit in the drawing position I used to...

But then I had an idea for a Christmas present for the hubby, and I just had to bring out the old coal pencils. It's not great art, I taped paper to a door and drew in a standing position with new tools and new methods. But it was nice to be creative again.

Picture quality isn't great, I had already put it in the frame, lol, and taking it out again might crumple the paper.

But here you go, my portraits of the boyfriend in the form of a bear (it's a joke between us).

Oh, and the title, we called each other husband and wife for a long time before we got together, it's an old joke between friends that suddenly turned pretty serious, lol.

Looks like an alien dragon! I like it, quite esoteric, energetic and powerful.

Much, much energy in that, yeah.

And nice technique too. You amaze me as always :D

Mike, the consular would probably sit quite a while on beforehand to ponder the concept of "what is a door? what's it's higher meaning?" before ever getting so far as to actually try opening it, lol.

We are great at overthinking things :D

I'm a consular/sentinel mix, in that case, lol. I'll ponder, reflect and meditate first, then come up with a plan and a tactic that will secure the path ahead.

I like the "simplicity" of the lower one, the original ones. Sometimes less speak louder than more, which can get "loud". Particularly when it comes to a Jedi certificate I feel it should give off a certain "tranquility", and that in this regard less is particularly more. I always enjoyed the simple, yet elegant design of the one I got previously. It is intricate enough to look professional, yet elegant enough to look neat on my wall.

Those are just my five cents though :) As long as the certificates don't look "flashy" or "show-off-y" they're good.

Definitely in the long run, but that doesn't help if one run out of cash to pay the bills and buy food before next payment day. That said, I can afford more than most students since I have a well paid part-time job on the side, thus I eat better than most as well. At least I do get regular greens, most of the time :D But I also take vitamin supplements and drink only sugar-free stuff. So I dare say I live healthier than a lot of students.

But then again, I got a slightly better economy than most, thus it helps. I remember first time I went to study; I had so little money I ate noodles for weeks at the time, lol. Living near a farm would definitely be great :)

True. One thing that is still a problem here is how healthy foods, like vegetables and whole-grain stuff is so much more expensive than the unhealthy stuff packed with shoulder. The government started a "sugar tax" a while back; but without making the healthy things more affordable they're not really fixing the problem. Its gotten a wee bit better, but it's still a joke. A sugar tax doesn't solve anything, unless they do something to support farmers so they can have more produce and it can be sold at a cheaper price. It's complicated economy, but not that darn hard so the politicians should really take another look at it.

But for reals, if you're trying to live on a relatively clean diet, it costs a lot more than if you're willing to live off the less healthy stuff. Honestly, as a student I can't really afford living as healthy as I'd like, it's simply too costly :/

Here in Norway big pharma isn't quite the lucrative business, and doctor's tend to advice against medicine these days. Heck, you're lucky if you get a prescription for pain killers even if you feel you seriously need them, lol. And my doctor definitely didn't want me on any anti-anxiety; she believes that stuff will just entrap you in a circle of drug codependency. So the steer away from medication and go for a healthy lifestyle of exercise, proper nutrition and mindfulness is definitely a rage amongst Norwegian doctors, and have been for the last decade. So I don't really feel the same strong distrust for pharma or doctors, because we don't really have those tendencies here where medicine is a business over a service. Here it's state run; and under strict regulation so that everyone will get the health care they need, meaning it's hard to make a profit of it, hence it doesn't turn into a business where doctors make more money the more sick people get.
