Ears popping can be from a few different causes, Hiker. I find that when I dance or spar, they pop unless I clean them once a week. Also if you live in low elevation your ears are very sensitive to barometric pressure drops. Just my experience. Breathing deeply changes your equilibrium, which can occasionaly cause popping, but nothing harmful. Its actually a good sign!

Dear Readers,

As we go through life, we are told that our experiences teach us who we are, and what we are not allowed to do in certain situations; the social norms of how to get the attention we want, and the negative repercussions of stepping 'out of line'. The need for attention is a basic human need, one of the body, and thus, something we as Jedi should try to avoid. To want leads to jealousy, jealousy leads to anger, anger leads to hate...you know the rest. The world likes to put us in boxes - to categorize us, thus limiting us on the basic, societal level.

But we can get beyond this limitation, just as we reach beyond our supposed spiritual limitations with...

Another meditation!

This one focuses on bringing the vibrations into balance, allowing you to focus on how you can refrain from putting yourself in those boxes that society has told you you must fit into. Let go the anger, let go the worry, let go the 'cannot' and focus on the 'can'. Let go of that innate need to be accepted and instead, accept yourself regardless of what others say or do.

This meditation is for all stages, all walks. each step can go as long as is wanted/needed for your personal journey. I like to go for ten minutes each step, and use a timer app for this meditation. It simulates the bells used in Zen meditations so I can focus on the meditation itself instead of 'should I ring the bell now?'

Preparation: Sit in a comfortable position on the floor. This can be on a cushion, to take weight off of sore or stiff joints, cross-legged or in seiza (on the knees). touch your index finger and thumb together on each hand, placing the hands palm up on the knees. Close your eyes; you are looking inward for this exercise.

Focus on your breathing for a few minutes before you start. Listen to it's natural rhythm - don't force it. The natural cadence levels out as you relax, deepening with each inhale and lengthening with each exhale. Natural breath is key.

Step 1: Using deep, diaphragmatic breathing, hum as loud as you can, mouth closed, teeth together.focus all your energy on becoming one with the hum, one with the sound of your own energies. As you continue to hone your focus, your hum will shift in tone - don't worry, this is fine.

Step 2: Now sit in complete silence. Envision a pure light emerging from your chest and filling your whole being - but focus on its source; the heart chakra. This is the center of emotion, the center of passion, and the center sent most out of balance by the attention needs of the self. feel the light purging this need from your body and mind, releasing you to accept you as your true, uninhibited self. If your mind wanders, do not drag it back kicking and screaming; it means to show you a way that you judge yourself, and that you need to stop judging in this way. accept what it is teaching you, and then return to that cleansing, pure light.

As the bell rings, do one final hum, tuning in with the bell's message of 'It's time to come outside now'.

Enjoy!

May the Force Guide You and Keep You,
Dina Gamal
