If I had to pick one part above the others, it would probably be "There is no death, there is The Force."
I've been witness to the passing on of several of my friends and family over the course of my life, and each one has effected me, and in some cases I felt it broke me. Mortality is one of the hardest things anyone has to face, their own or someone else's. That being said, this line helped me make peace with my sense of loss. As Yoda put it: "luminous beings are we, not this crude matter." And "mourn them do not, miss them do not. Rejoice for those who have returned to the Force."
Knowing they are still with me, knowing some part of them continues after their physical form ends, it helps me shoulder the weight of that grief, and eventually, accept it.

I was curious if anyone here was familiar with this group, The Rebel Legion. They aren't what I would call a role playing group, although they do dress up in costume for conventions and other events, but from what I understand they also do charity work.

Just wanted to bring them up because I found them interesting, also was wondering if anyone here had any experience with them, or at least of them.

In many cases, people tend to follow whatever path leads to the most comfort quickest in times of great stress. It can be healthy or not, social or isolated, but it usually breaks down to practicality, at least in my case this is true. When faced with the normal daily hardships, I tend to take a moment for myself, separate myself and find my center, which is usually enough. However, on those days where the stress goes beyond my means to handle alone, such as when my grandparents passed away, I reach out. When I come here to talk about these situations, I feel safe, and in the end isn't that what we all want when we are overly stressed? Somewhere or someone or something that makes us feel safe, something familiar, someone trusted?

I guess what I'm getting at is its good to know this is one of those safe places, and this family, which I do consider the Jedi a part of my family, is an option, a place to turn when things become difficult, a place where things can make sense, and if nothing else a sounding board for those difficult times.

I have 4 characters, but I forget which server I'm on, think its called 'prophecy of 5', think I also have a couple on the Jedi covenant server, but I haven't been on there for a couple years. I got a lvl 20 consular and the others are under that. I like the two Jedi story lines, but I also find the sith inquisitor story interesting.

anyways, if anyone sends me a friend request on usually up for a group mission.

The way I see it, we can view this silence in one of two ways: first, there simply isn't as much activity at the temple as there has been in times past, or on the other hand, perhaps it is silent because our fellow Jedi are bringing what they have learned to the world, and are taking action in their own way. Remember, our focus determines our reality, the Force was never meant as something to be discussed only within these walls, but something we all as life forms share with one another. In time I am sure our brothers and sisters will return, until then I say patience.

May the Force be with us all

Last month, my family was finally able to give my grandfather, and grandmother, whom passed away two months after my grandfather, a burial at Arlington cemetery. It was an incredible sight and worthy of them both.

There was something beautiful about my grandparents passing away so close in time of each other. It was as though they went on to the next world side by side. So, sad though it was, the Force still can show us wonders through the tragedy.

I miss my grandparents dearly, but I am happy knowing they aren't alone. Thank you everyone for all your prayers.

This is a speech by Charlie Chaplin, in my opinion one of the greatest speeches ever told, both timeless and powerful. Its been on my mind lately, and I felt compelled to share it.

"I'm sorry, but I don't want to be an emperor. That's not my business. I don't want to rule or conquer anyone. I should like to help everyone - if possible - Jew, Gentile, black man, white. We all want to help one another. Human beings are like that. We want to live by each others happiness, not by each others misery. We don't want to hate and despise one another. In this world there is room for everyone. The way of life can be free and beautiful, but we have lost the way.

Greed has poisoned men's souls, has barricaded the world with hate, has goose stepped usinto misery and bloodshed. We have developed speed, but we have shut ourselves in. Machinery that gives abundance has left us in want. Our knowledge has made us cynical. Our cleverness, hard and unkind. We think too much and feel too little. More than machinery we need humanity. More than cleverness we need kindness and gentleness. Without these qualities, life will be violent and all will be lost...

The aero plane and the radio have brought us closer together. The very nature of these inventions cries out for the goodness in men, cries out for universal brotherhood, for the unity of us all. Even now my voice is reaching millions throughout the world, millions of despairing men, women, and little children, victims of a system that makes men torture and imprison innocent people.

To those who can hear me, I say, do not despair. The misery that is now upon us is but the passing of greed, the bitterness of men who fear the way of human progress. The hate of men will pass, and dictators die, and the power that they took from the people will return to the people. As long as men die liberty will never perish...

Soldiers! Do not give yourselves to brutes, men who despise you, enslave you, who regiment your lives, tell you what to do, what to think and what to feel! Who drill you, diet you, treat you like cattle, use you as cannon fodder. Don't give yourselves to these unnatural men, machine men with machine minds and machine hearts! You don't hate! Only the unloved hate, the unloved and unnatural. Soldiers! Don't fight for slavery! Fight for liberty!

In the 17th chapter of St. Luke it is written: "The kingdom of God is within men." Not one man or a group of men, but in all men! In you! You the people have the power, the power to create machines. The power to create happiness! You, the people have the power to make this life free and beautiful, to make this life a wonderful adventure.

Then, in the name of democracy, let us use that power, let us all unite. Let us fight for a new world, a decent world that will give men a chance to work, that will give youth a future and old age a security. By the promise of these things, brutes have risen to power. But they lie! They do not fulfill that promise. They never will.

Dictators free themselves but they enslave the people. Now let us fight to fulfill that promise. Let us fight to free the world, to do away with national barriers, to do away with greed, with hate and intolerance. Let us fight for a world of reason, a world where science and progress will lead to all men's happiness. Soldiers! In the name of democracy, let us all unite!"
