Please post your love to our Master Sam in his time of grief, as his mother, a true Jedi, has recently passed into the Force.

Darling Sam, all my love to you and your family especially Daddy Sam in this sad time.

I love you Master

Seeing how this topic hasn't been closed, the latest on formality at the Temple is this.

There has not been a formal policy created on formality.

Grayson or whoever, please place this as a suggestion in the TO THE COUNCIL forum if this is something you or anyone of the general membership feel they wish Council to consider and work on.

Then this topic will be closed.

Humbly

Hi Master Jyn,

This is the best I can do right now for moderating.

This topic should be sent as a suggestion to the Council for possible inclusion in the goals of the Temple.

Would you mind starting a post in the admin area, with a suggestion as to what you'd like the Council to do for you on this goal of yours?

Pretty please with sugar on top, see you in chat soon.

KC

HI Bylar

Welcome back to the Temple Force.

You may have noticed some changes to the boards and the inititate training has been formalised, many things happening for this Order.

Many things happening within the Jedi community as well, there are new churches being opened by Jedi and many people working on pushing Jediism into the public arena. Which as you know is one of the goals of this Order.

Clergy here has not been worked on yet, but it will get there through our Council's efforts. We are working on redoing the face of this site and working on making this a more professional working Order. This includes getting more staff, training more staff and establishing our clergy.

Much work still to be done, let me know what you've been doing elsewhere as a Minister, very interested to know what another Minister has been doing in another Order. Even though I'm also a member of TOTJO, I've been busy in other denominations and haven't fully kept up to date with TOTJO daily activities.

Glad to see you back, let me know if you need anymore information on happenings at this Order.

Guys

If you get the answer to the assignment right and in your words it doesnt matter where you gained the wisdom from.

Training on offer at this Temple is purely to get you to understand what we believe as a group, our belief system is in our Doctrine. We 'train' you to acknowledge you understand the meanings in our teachings, tenet, vows etc contained in our Doctrine. Once this is shown you are a Knight.

Our mentors are supposed to concentrate on this element as you travel through this Temple.

All other training information is to complement this Doctrine and has to be approved by Council. Nothing unofficial is to be taught here, we have mentors gathering and getting approval for additional doctrine associated stuff that will help you understand our way of Jediism and only people trained to teach you here, will do so.

Ignorance not Knowledge.

Cheers

KC

Brother John

I agree with you on the Wiki article and link to Jediism. It's a joke and we can do something about it. I followed a link from a UK Church to that article today and was amazed that the link would take me to a page of propoganda. What happened to the TOTJO article on Jediism?

Not that the Wiki is that important a source of information, this site has its own Jediwiki.

DO you have anyone in TOTJO who would want to work on this project? We could use another name other than Jediism to bypass Wiki's redirection as you say.

As far as this thread subject - Is there really a point to this thread other than to rehash all the foundations of this temple's origins, definitions, goals etc.

We are working on uniting Jedi groups, there is only one definition of a Jedi according to the concensus of Jedi sites via Jedi Online, the title Jediists and Realists are not part of it. If a site wants to call themselves these names that's fine. We are all Jedi first and foremost, surely.

This group is plain Jedi.

Definition of a Jedi
"Jedi are a noble order of protectors, guardians of peace and justice, unified by their belief and observance of the Force. They are individuals who actively work to improve their own lives and the lives of those around them every day."

Maybe TOTJO could go read the stuff on this site to see what has already taken place in the wider community. Couldn't hurt.

Brethren.

This is so interesting. We are still learning our place within the Jedi community and still defining ourselves it seems.

I would like to post an excerpt of a conversation I am having with Reverend Bosh - Jedi minister, member of ULC, Jedi Sanctuary, founder of the Temple of the Universal Spirit, council member of the United Jedi group. Leader of the California Jedi Assembly.

KC: how are we going to reunite, and if not reunite or unify, at least spread the word of what is the future path of the Jedi community as a whole. So so many people want to be part of the Jedi 'movement'. Is there even a Jedi movement? Or is it an individual path of learning and that's that? Some older members want us to be more united with goals
wsp1962: this is something I'm going to bring up in the gathering.
KC: with the clergy role, the social role as ministers or simply parishioners, some hate to be labelled as such.
Huge bug with being a religion or simply individuals being on a path of learning, I see it as both. If only the individual groups could define their own groups goals and we had one directory
wsp1962: me too, and being a ULC minister I'm fully aware of the criticism
KC: then individual Jedi could decide, you join a group, the group tells you what it does within the community and you stay or you go, none of this one group, one goal, as long as we are all Jedi as per the definition
wsp1962: Yes, and EACH have a FREE WILL. I will not tell anyone what to believe, or how, but to seek guidance from the Force to find what direction they should take.
KC: and collectively carry out the missions of the group or have no missions at all
wsp1962: No. No 'mission'. Just protecting those that need help.
KC: one mission of the JOIT is to help with this unification of Jedi groups, one mission of the Jedi Knights group is to do charity work, TJF has no clear missions.
wsp1962: yes, and I like that.
wsp1962: but, each should decide to either do that or not.
KC: yes
KC: and we need one community directory thats all, we have a definition of Jedi - unanimous, and we simply need to stay in touch , if a group wants to have a temple, so be it
wsp1962: true.
KC: if a group doesn't, then they have whatever set up they want, as for a central council it's to help with contacting others and for justice, not for clarification
wsp1962: true.
KC: or definition past the simple one made already by the majority of the community so far..

The definition of a Jedi according to the majority if Jedi members in the community, not the view of this temple, can be seen on

jedionlineJediOnline.com.

Much work is going on towards the gathering of all the Jedi towards a united front, to establish a Council of Councils.

There are too many groups with individual ideas on organisation, titles, ranks, heirarchy. We will never have one temple, one group overriding all others. The aim is to have one Council, comprised of members from as many groups follow the Jedi way, to establish a communication path and provide assistance to all Jedi groups. No one group within the community, religious or secular is in charge of the 'faith' the Force, the religion or the philosophy of the Jedi way, aka Jediism.

This noble Council idea is not new, and it has been attempted within the last ten years by various Jedi groups, online mostly with varying degrees of success. There is another attempt at it between many members of the community.

But what does this mean to individual members who join a Jedi group in order to find enlightenment and knowledge? Probably nothing. This is all more establishment and bureaucracy. We all know we are still a young 'movement'.
Lot's more work ahead for us as a Jedi group.
How each group of Jedi behave, believe or participate within the wider community is up to the leaders of that group.

It doesn't matter what group, philosophy, belief you have about the Force, if you are within an individual group, you must follow the leaders, so John does things his way, and Sam believes his way, we all see it differently. What we do have in common is this, we all call ourselves Jedi.
Being involved within a Jedi community is an individual choice.

Anyone is more than welcome to help with the gathering in USA, or any of the others planned around the world.
