Who are Jedi civilians going to shoot? This is the real world. Who isn't going to go to jail for being a vigilante? – You view the Jedi as pure military? Jedi were primarily ambassadors, we don’t need vigilantes, we need people with understanding we do not need civilians to take up arms against anyone, I was talking of the political pressure religions can put on people, businesses and governments to aid the world. We are not terrorist.

“That first sentence was forced in by a militant arm of the Jedi” – I belive there are some Jedi here who are too in the military. Don’t forget the Jedi were in groups. Sentinels, guardians and Consular’s so their was never an imbalance of roles

“All we can do is train for ourselves” - A selfish statement from one with high standing within the temple the whole idea of the Jedi is to help others.

Perhaps you need to re read my post.

"To many off us are into self perfection, it can never be achieved unless we do it was a species”

In order to sort myself out as you put it I must strive to "sort out the world" for only in a time of peace can we truly discover enlightenment.

“I am a better person for Jedi training. I am learning and growing - and I cannot imagine a more positive life for the world. I try to help people, the environment, and even my own life and those involved with me through my Jedi Training.” What the hell is only training yourself in seclusion going to do to help the world? You going to suddenly develop super human abilities? Save the would through recycling, or donations? We need to act as a whole not as individuals.

Why stick us together under a definition when we all work on our own as we do. But if there is training - why not Jedi AND Jediist training. They would be different in many ways - you know? – this was the whole idea of my post. We are supposed to be helping others, be a group dedicated to bettering the world yet most stay on this board talking about useless sh!t. what shred of defiance would a passage have in the side notes of the backwater steam of the internet have on the world. For all I care they could describe Jedi as Half chicken half pug demons from the deep with tendencies to role in mud while clucking. To be honest I wouldn’t be I’d turn into one. Deal with the real problems not the trivial.

If there is more we can do - realistically do - please tell someone! (Not dreams of things - real, objective, hands-on things we can do. – even as a whole group charity to hel the sick, poor or starving. – personally I got a charity dive from 15,000 feet in may to do for thirst aid. If as a group we would make more… so be it.

To day I watched the news 2 people (conservationists) boarded a japenese waling vessel, now their stuck aboard. But just by doing that the whole worlds eyes have turned in the direction of Japanese waleing from a simple act if two can do it then what about 10, 20 or 50 people can do. Its not difficult I can be done with little effort if the drive is there.

I refuse to turn this into another worthless argument that gets no-where, this is the last i will be posting in this thread.

Good day,

JK

We as Jedi should be better than this, if nothing else the Jedi way should teach us that infighting between ourselves would do no good. It is what infact created the Sith sect. this site… temple is a life line to those in our community. Yet I sit at my desk today browsing through the walls in our archive, so to say, and I find nothing less that arguing this is a forum and like forums of old it is we people whom deem themselves superior to others come squabble, fight with words 1st unleash armys 2nd. I say enough its time to pull your heads out of your asses and look at the bigger picture. We are here debating what/who we are claiming to be protectors of peace, gladiators of light yet all the majority her do is fight amongst our own.

"Jedi are a noble order of protectors, guardians of peace and justice, unified by their belief and observance of the Force. They are individuals who actively work to improve their own lives and the lives of those around them every day."
So why the hell dont we? I ask in ernest I see the news I see things that happen curls things we humans are. WE ARE A RELIGIOUS SECT that is what we are and like all religious bodies we have one thing we can use on our side. Pressure.

Why are we not out their in the world helping others? We would learn more about humans if we eradicate the evil within but most of all we would learn more about ourselves if we help others. The Buddhists (normally peaceful, protested and moved the people)
We can do the same.

There are growing problems in the world and if their not solved now their will be no future to discuss things of no importance as I find in many Jedi boards. We must act, save ourselves by saving the world not the other way round. To many off us are into self perfection, it can never be achieved unless we do it was a species

Three words… Sort It Out!

Truth to the Bone.

Below are the laws of life, that I attept to uphold to. Each time I learn something new I make it into a law and add it to the list to remind myself of it;

1. You can only count on yourself.
In the growing days of deceit, lies a propaganda there is only one solution at this time and that is to rely solely on yourself. You will become an individual rather that one of the masses. Set your set free and brake the chains of polatics

2. Never reveal more than you have to.
Never reaveil more that you need to, this way you are forever protected with that little bt more knollage than those aroudn you remember this “I taught you everything you know, not everthing I know”

3. Give credit where credit is due.
In life many do things that others take credit for, just remember that roles can be reversed that person your keeping down today, could be your boss tomorrow. If somone does something good praise them give them the credit. You’ll be thankful for it later

4. When all else fails, do it yourself.
When in dire need of assistance or when cetain things are needed, you may be the best qualified to do them yourself. It as as in life take mechanics for instance. When an apprentice is taken on they are given the tasks that other don’t want, menial taks like brake of a car. Now if that apprentice gets is wrong catastrope can stike. If is doubt take a look yourself and you’ll have noone to blame

5. Never date a co-worker.
This may seam obvious to some or con fusing to others in the day an age were meeting decent people is hard come somtime the easyest place to find someone is the place you work. Simply because they do somthign you do you instantly have something in common. F it goes tit-face… and it will, then you are one friend down an most likely you’re the most hated person at work as she’s turned you into the devil incarnate.

6. Never look back, the obstacles are all ahead.
The past is just that, been and gone. Nothing can change it, inflence not re-direct it it is a constant. What happened in the past stayed in the past. Never mourn the dead, for they live within you

7. Always make time for friends.
Friends are everything. They are who you are, if there is any true way of measureing a man then its is with the company he keeps. Friends reflect who you are as an individual

8. If life hands you lemonade, don't try to make lemons out of it.
If you get a windfall or something un-expectantly good happens don’t look down the nose at it. Enjoy it for what it is a momentary realise from the hash reality of life, take the good with the bad.

9. You gotta go with what works.
If somthign is unconvetional, radical or plain stupid but works, then it is it is not stupid. No matter how silly it looks it it gets the job done then use it. This is the fast road to success.

10. Never underestimate the power of teamwork.
Teamwork is the key in life, without it humans would have died out long ago. It is what brought us through the ages. The few can overcome the masses if they work together as one.

11. Life isn't always fair.
This is a short but sweet law. Life is not always fair so one does not always have to play fairly.

12. A little elbow grease never hurt anyone.
Put that little bit extra in whatever you do, the rewards for that are much greater than the sum of work put in.

13. Never second-guess your own work.
As an Engineer second guessing your own work is a major no-no. as reptuation is the only thing engineers care about, if you don’t trust yourself how can anyone else trust you.

14. Whenever you've eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.
This law is self explanatory, ones everything else is gone what ever is left is the answer.

15. Always watch your back.
Never be taken by surprise. Always watch your own back as you never know when or what could happen. And going to the first law. Do it yourself and you’ll have no-one to blame

16. It always pays to think ahead.
The futre is constant, that is it is aways coming and as such a jedi should always be mindfull of the futre but not at the expence of the moment. Plan ahead but don’t forget yourself

17. Anything can happen.
The days of myth and legand are over. This age is one of mystery and knowledge, this we once knew are gone, thins we know are challaged anmd things we will know forever take a step closer to their journeys end.

18. It's not over until it's over, and sometimes not even then.
When all things seam lost, when all is gone their still may be hope. My family are based around a military and my uncle was a pilot until he went MIA. He used to tell stories that chilled the spine and yet were true, that told of acts of sacrifice and horrors that were true, that told of defeat yet here he stood. Life is a storm, you will bask in the sunlight one moment, be shattered on the rocks the next. What makes you a man is what you do when that storm comes. You must look into that storm and shout. Do your worst, for I will do mine! Then the fates will know you. As a Jedi

19. If it works perfectly, someone will re-design it.
It is the Micro age the time of computers, the time of exelence (nothing works good unless it’s attached to a computer) mentality. Humans strive for the Nano age their struggle to betterthemselves before evelotion does it for them.

20. Love Is The Law Of Life.
All love is expansion, all selfishness is contraction. Love is therefore the only law of life. He who loves lives, he who is selfish is dying. Therefore, love for love's sake, because it is law of life, just as you breathe to live.

21. It's Your Outlook That Matters.
It is our own mental attitude, which makes the world what it is for us. Our thoughts make things beautiful, our thoughts make things ugly. The whole world is in our own minds. Learn to see things in the proper light.

22. Life is Beautiful.
First, believe in this world - that there is meaning behind everything. Everything in the world is good, is holy and beautiful. If you see something evil, think that you do not understand it in the right light. Throw the burden on yourselves!

23. It's The Way You Feel.
Feel like Christ and you will be a Christ; feel like Buddha and you will be a Buddha. It is feeling that is the life, the strength, the vitality, without which no amount of intellectual activity can reach the true live sustaining Force.

24. Set Yourself Free.
The moment I have realised that God’s sitting in the temple of every human body, the moment I stand in reverence before every human being and see their God’s within them - that moment I am free from bondage, everything that binds vanishes, and I am free.

25. Don't Play The Blame Game.
Condemn none: if you can stretch out a helping hand, do so. If you cannot, fold your hands, bless your brothers, and let them go their own way.

26. Help Others.
If money helps to do good to others, it is of some value; but if not, it is simply a mass of evil, and the sooner it is got rid of, the better.

27. Uphold Your Ideals.
Our duty is to encourage every one in their struggle to live up to their own highest idea, and strive at the same time to make the ideal as near as possible to the Truth.

28. Listen To Your Soul.
You have to grow from the inside out. None can teach you, none can make you spiritual. There is no other teacher but your own soul.

29. Be Yourself.
The greatest religion is to be true to your own nature. Have faith in yourselves and all will setting unto its own course

30. Nothing Is Impossible.
Never think there is anything impossible for the soul. It is the greatest heresy to think so. If there is Evil, this is the only Evil - to say that you are weak, or to inflict it unto others.

31. You Have The Power.
All the powers in the universe are already ours. It is we who have put our hands before our eyes and cry that it is dark.

32. Learn Everyday.
The goal of mankind is knowledge... now this knowledge is inherent in us. No knowledge comes from outside: it is all inside. What we say we 'know', should, in strict psychological language, be what he 'discovers' or 'unveils'; what we 'learn' is really what we discover by taking the cover off our own soul, which is a mine of infinite knowledge.

33. Be Truthful.
Everything can be sacrificed for truth, but truth cannot be sacrificed for anything. Tell the truth even if it shall lead to your death.

34. Think Different.
All differences in this world are of degree, and not of kind, because oneness is the secret of everything, as an engineer this come easier to me than it may to others, this is the true path to knowledge, there is an Edison, Einstein and Newton in us all

35. This, too, shall pass.
Nothing stays the same. The only constant in life is change. With every decision we make, we initiate change. Even when we decide not to decide, life still goes on, and changes still occur. When we are in a state of discomfort, sadness, grief, or pain, we know that because life goes on, change will bring us some kind of relief. And because even comfort, happiness, and all good things also pass, we know that we need to appreciate and cherish each precious, fleeting moment.

36. Time heals.
The timepiece of life never stops. Neither does it pause for those who celebrate, speed up for those who are impatient, nor slow down for those who fear tomorrow. Time ticks a regular rhythm that steadily brings new moments, new days, and new seasons. As time pushes forward, we take new steps, face new challenges, and create new opportunities. And as life goes on, we are forced to move past our episodes of disappointment, sorrow, or despair. More than anything else, time heals not just broken bones but broken hearts as well

37. Ask, and you shall receive.
People won t know what you want unless you ask for it. Dreams and goals are just wishes until you act on them, and acting on them often requires that you ask for answers, for assistance, or for something tangible. It takes a lot of courage to ask for help, but when you come forward, only then will the world know what to give you. Just ask and know that miracles can happen.

38. You can have anything, but not everything.
Life offers us infinite possibilities. With hard work, determination, and perseverance, we can achieve anything. If we re willing to pay the price and go the extra mile, we can have whatever our hearts desire. But no matter how hard we try, we can t have everything. Life is a balancing act of wins, losses, and trade-offs we gain some and we lose some.

39. What goes around comes around.
It s the universal law of nature: do to others what you want others to do to you, because whatever you sow, you reap; whatever you give, you get back ten-fold. It doesn't hurt to smile, or be kind, or extend a helping hand. You never know when or how, but every act of goodness always returns to the GIVER Give one today and receive ten tomorrow.

40. A conclusion is the place where you got tired of thinking
Work is never truly finished, one can always go one step further, you can always improve on what you have, knowledge of everything is impossible as knowledge progresses along with the mankind

41. If you have to ask, you're not entitled to know.
I you have to ask a question then you are not prepared to know it. This is generally derived from my family’s military background. This means that we should strive to teach ourselves then we can truly say we deserve the knowledge we have.

42. If you don't like the answer, you shouldn't have asked the question.
This I kinda contradictory to the previous law but as all things here, it has its place. If you ask a question and to did not like the answer then you were not ready for the information received.

43. A memorandum is written not to inform the reader but to protect the writer.
This I know well as an engineer, all contractors, companies and corporations are only in it for themselves. When you receive a memo 9/10 its bad news. If its bad news its either already happened or is about to and the memo is so that the sender is not liable as you where informed of the matter. Preventing lawsuit.

44. Power tends to corrupt; absolute power corrupts absolutely.
Take a close look at military officers or politicians, when they begin there or of clean mind and conscious of their actions, near the end they make extreme decisions and cause major problems down the line… look at the president or the prime minister (something for the counsel members to take heed of, as its happened before)

45. It is better for civilization to be going down the drain than to be coming up it.
Its better for a people (third world country for instance) to be slowly but surely pulling themselves together an getting themselves out of their predicament, but if you look at the US or Europe we are slowly dropping down the scale. What goes up…

46. Almost anything is easier to get into than out
Look at the war it was easy saying lets get um, but now after what 5 years now we still cant pull everyone out now. Trouble for instance you can get in it without hassle but getting out is a wee bit harder.

47. Do, Don’t Try
The old saying you either can or you cant. If you attempt you WILL fail if you do you will achieve therefore I keep those words out of my vocabulary as much as possible, start small

48. learning never stops, nor should teaching
If one stops learning they are no longer human, so learn is human to teach is human without one the other cant survive.

49. Never be surprised on how much you can learn in one day
When writing the descriptions out I started with only 47 near the end of the descriptions I ended up with 54 only as I worked my mind as I wrote keeping in with living in the zone.

50. Never bite more than you can chew
Never say you’ll do something if you are unable to or cannot do it in the way or time frame set. This is another brought forward from my engineering lifestyle. Take things step by step

51. All things have a place
Everything has a reason and a place for being in existence, e.g. we invent things to help us, that is what they are there for that is what they do. When they are no longer needed they are converted into something else we need.

52. Start small, build up
If you start small and build up in steps then there is no limit of how far you can go. It is as if in a race, if you use up your energy too soon then to speed of ahead only to be overtaken later on. If you go to slow then you get too far behind. Careful balance is needed.

53. Don’t get in the zone, live in it
Some people need to get in the zone (authors to write, solders to perform duty, games to kill opponents) its is our duty as humans to keep ourselves in “the zone” people who had this capability we like Einstein and Newton. Some people could only stay in the zone for certain amounts of time J.K. Rowling and Bill Gates are examples what have they done since Newton, Einstein and Edison will be remember for ever

54. Steps are there for a reason
There are procedures in place for the exact reason to progress at a slow and steady pace, whether it’s instruction of a flat-pack cabinet or steps to progress in life, in health or religion if there are nor steps then create them (steps AKA - Goals)

I will be constantly adding more to this list so expect it to grow, I’ll also add the meaning behind each one in the next few days/weeks to come.

Einstein:

I am not only a pacifist but a militant pacifist. I am willing to fight for peace. Nothing will end war unless the people themselves refuse to go to war.

The world is a dangerous place to live; not because of the people who are evil, but because of the people who don't do anything about it.

The Jedi Mind

The Mind collectively refers to the aspects of intellect and consciousness manifested as combinations of thought, perception, memory, emotion, will and imagination; mind is the stream of consciousness. It includes all of the brain's conscious processes. This denotation sometimes includes, in certain contexts, the working of the human sub-conscious or the conscious thoughts of animals. "Mind" is often used to refer especially to the thought processes of reason.

The Jedi mind must both be open and closed. Haven a purely open mind would weaken the Jedi’s own believe. Cannon shows this in the movies as the Jedi rejecting all Sith knowledge therefore having a closed mind. In contrast however the Jedi are also taught to keep there mind open with meditation, to view the universe as a whole and at the same time see every peace as a single entity.

The Jedi of old were taught to suppress emotion as is in their code it is my belief that the CODE is WRONG and should be re-written “There is no emotion; there is peace” well there can be no peace without emotion, peace is defined as; harmonious relations; freedom from disputes, relations is defined as an abstraction belonging to or characteristic of two entities or parts together. Even out own teachings are in conflict with the code

Jedi teachings

# 5. As Jedi, we trust and use our feelings. We are intuitive, more so than others and with this heightened intuition we become more spiritually evolved as our minds become more harmonious with the Force and it's influences.

# 14. We as Jedi believe that love and compassion are central to our lives. We must love each other as we love ourselves; by doing this, we envelope all life in the positive energy of the Force.

Both teachings call for us to use our emotion, which goes against the old teachings, although the code is a major part of our believes we cannot contradict ourselves in our learning as other cultures do… this was the downfall for the Jedi before us, the pagans and will ultimately be the downfall of the Christian faith in my opinion

The Jedi Body

The teachings tell us that we as Jedi must understand that physical training is as important as training the mind and the spirit. We understand that all aspects of training are necessary to maintain the Jedi way of life and to perform the duties of a Jedi.

There is much training of the mind in this temple but little of the body… although there are those among us that do train, and those that pretend to train. I believe that some sort of school of straining should be set up to keep the old Jedi in shape and to get the new Jedi into shape and this should be brought in as a mandatory phase in an Jedi’s training before becoming a Apprentice/Knight/Master.
After all as teaching 15 tells us Jedi are guardians of peace and justice. We cannot perform this action if we are unduly trained in our body other wise we are nothing but an glorified ‘think tank’

The Jedi soul

#12. Jedi believe in eternal life. We do not become obsessed in mourning those who pass. Grieve as you will but take heart, for the soul and spirit continue in the netherworld of the Living Force.

It is my believe that the very essence of a human being comes from both the Mind and the soul, the mind inserting identity and the soul providing morality and balance in life but the must be a third to bind those together (as an engineer this is the best way to explain myself so bear with me).

If we take the mind and soul as the supporting struts of our life’s and the journey we take as the bridge crossing the void of the unknown. It doesn’t matter how strong the bridge or the supporting struts are if the joints are faulty (the body being the joint) and we as Jedi will crumble as those before us have done. The system is flawed and we are the only ones who can fix it.

Yours in the Force
J.K.

Time...

One view is that time is part of the fundamental structure of the universe, a dimension in which events occur in sequence, and time itself is something that can be measured. This is the realist's view, to which Isaac Newton subscribed

contrasting view is that time is part of the fundamental human intellectual structure (together with space and number) within which we sequence events, quantify the duration of events and the intervals between them, and compare the motions of objects. In this second view, time does not refer to any kind of entity that "flows", that objects "move through", or that is a "container" for events. This view is in which time, rather than being an objective thing to be measured, is part of the measuring system used by humans.

In physics, time and space are considered fundamental quantities (i.e. they cannot be defined in terms of other quantities because other quantities – such as velocity, force, energy, etc – are already defined in terms of them). Thus the only definition possible is an operational one, in which time is defined by the process of measurement and by the units chosen. Hence the claim that “Time is relevant”
There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven–
A time to give birth, and a time to die; A time to plant, and a time to uproot what is planted.
A time to kill, and a time to heal; A time to tear down, and a time to build up.
A time to weep, and a time to laugh; A time to mourn, and a time to dance.
A time to throw stones, and a time to gather stones; A time to embrace, and a time to shun embracing.
A time to search, and a time to give up as lost; A time to keep, and a time to throw away.
A time to tear apart, and a time to sew together; A time to be silent, and a time to speak.
A time to love, and a time to hate; A time for war, and a time for peace.
– Ecclesiastes
