I like the "simplicity" of the lower one, the original ones. Sometimes less speak louder than more, which can get "loud". Particularly when it comes to a Jedi certificate I feel it should give off a certain "tranquility", and that in this regard less is particularly more. I always enjoyed the simple, yet elegant design of the one I got previously. It is intricate enough to look professional, yet elegant enough to look neat on my wall.

Those are just my five cents though :) As long as the certificates don't look "flashy" or "show-off-y" they're good.

Both are awesome! I love the logo and colour of the new one because for some reason, I always associated the Jedi Path with earthy-like colours! I'd take out the torches (?), though, and make the letters less colourful. The original one is nice too , I like the font

We can give people the choice of either one. Plus the more colorful one can be printed out in black and white if desired. Can't do anything about the torches as they are part of the background.
