Hello all,

If you don’t know me, I’m Moonshadow, one of the Administrators of the Jedi Resource Center / Jedi Gatherings Group. Every year we host a Jedi Gathering and I wanted to let you know about the Michigan Gathering coming up this summer.

If you aren’t familiar with the concept of Jedi Gatherings, Gatherings are basically a 3-4 day camping trip during which Jedi and other interested parties come together in real life to share, learn, and apply the real-life aspects of being a Jedi. These Gatherings usually include people from all over the world and are always a lot of fun and a great chance to meet fellow Jedi offline. We’ve stepped things up a bit this year and rather than tenting or cabins, the Gathering will be held in a retreat center with fully catered meals.

Here are the details:

2009 Michigan Jedi Gathering

Date: Thursday July 23rd - Sunday July 26th, 2009
Location: Tower Hill Camp, Sawyer, MI
Contact Person: Angelus (angelus13g@hotmail.com)

For full details, check here.
To participate in discussion about the upcoming Gathering, check here.
To register, express interest, or request more details, please fill out a Jedi Gathering Registration form.

Please contact Angelus at angelus13g@hotmail.com with any questions about the MI Gathering, or Moonshadow at moonshadowlight5@gmail.com with any gathering or JRC related questions in general.

I'll be continually updating the detailed posts as new information becomes available. Thanks! And hope to see you there!

Jedi Grayson - I live about as far from this Gathering as you - and I think Octagon isn't too far away?

Would LOVE to meet you both in person... Any chance either of you - Or ANYONE who may make the trip - may go?

- Asta

I've had so many technical issues with the site, it's made it impossible for me to do anything. :( Which is a shame.

Edit: Hah Hah! Got it! :)
But that was all beside the point. I know I won't be able to attend. :( Wrong country....wrong -continent-....anything in England?

As much as I would like to go, if I am looking at my planner right, it looks like I have my daughter during the period of the Gathering. Unless something changes..*shrugs*

May the Force be With You,
Jedi Grayson Dark

There is a very small chance that I may be able to make this.

You could always bring her along. There were kids at the last one and they were no problem at all. One of the Jedi in attendance even had some activities specific for kids in the form of a pinata shaped like Darth Vader's head full of candy and party favors. :D

You mean besides the English?

I have about the same chance of attending this as Katie B.

Jedi Grayson,

As Mindas said, children are definitely welcome and there are usually at least 2-3 kids of various ages attending and even participating right alongside of the adults in the workshops. For those kids too young, they usually hang out and play with each other. I guess it depends how old your daughter is.

JeRegretRiens,

I've offered to help organize a UK Gathering many times in the past, but need a local point person to help me out since I live all the way in the U.S. During a brief visit to London a few years ago, I managed to meet at least 5 Jedi, so you can imagine what we could with an actual organized Gathering. Let me know if you're interested in helping out and I'll do what I can to assist you.

Well, my daughter is 3, and I highly doubt my ex-wife will allow her to go to Michigan. Sorry. Wish I could go...maybe next time.

Ah well. There's always next year. And you never know. Sometimes things have a way of working out. :)
