Does anyone care about the arts? It's dead???
Hi everyone, let me introduce myself briefly: I'm a retired painting teacher in our Madison, called jackey, 57 years, devoting all my time to art. But now i'm becoming worried about the future of our country's art day after day.

What the hell is going on our art??? Visual, performance, written word, etc. Is art dead in Madison, isn't it?

Is there somebody tell me?

First of all, welcome to the Jedi Temple! Glad to see a new face around here. I hope you find the Temple of the Jedi Force to be what you come to expect. If you have questions about anything, just ask. Everyone here is more than willing to help and answer questions you may have.

Now, as far as art goes, there are still people that do different kinds of art. There's sketching, painting, digital photo manipulation (Photoshopping), and more. In my free time, personally, I occasionally like to sketch things. So to me, art is not totally dead. As far as painting, that's not my thing, but that doesn't mean people aren't doing it in my mind. Hope this answers your question or gives you some insight.

And again, welcome to the Temple, and may the Force be with you.

*bows*

My wife is a painter and she paints quite a few beautiful paintings just experimenting with new techniques. I myself am a forgeless blacksmith, so although I have no place to work at the moment I create metal art. Master Juvehil, who trained me into Knighthood, is a digital artist who often shares his stuff here. Talented artists are everywhere and in a variety of forms. People care, the art is not dead, but it is possible there are few artists in your immediate location.

Also keep in mind many people do their art in secret. One good friend of mine sketches, but doesn't say anything about it and only shares his sketches with his closest friends. I'm proud to be in that group. He creates some interesting pieces.

Edit: I'm also a long-term writer's blocked poet and author. I've been trying to overcome that. I think stress and other ideas blot out my possible writings.

I don't feel art is dead for it's evolved onto computers, that's just the way of the world, the circle of life. Painting and things along those lines are a rare medium that's slowly fading. Art is more than just painting, it's also words like poets, or musicians who write real genuine music, sculptors who sculpt statues. Even architects can be considered a form of art because they are designing buildings and homes.

But art is no longer what it used to be thanks to the evolution of the world. I don't think there will ever be a time when people just stop doing old fashioned art all together because it's just a passion, but it is a dying breed.

Hmmm...Guess there's always that chance. Usually they just spew out nonsense about all sorts of sexual references or products and services we don't really need. I agree though it did raise an interesting point.

I kinda thought there was something odd here. I thought a person who was interested in various arts might have looked at Yoda's Den before posting here. Good results regardless, I think.

Agreed Ace!

When bots promote positive thought, discourse, collaboration, and growth.

What has spam come to!?

Sad part is the Bot's have been igniting some interesting conversations and actually getting more action to the site than what its had in a while.
