An important discussion is happening as of late here in our temple, and it has come to the point where we are putting it to a temple-wide vote! Yes, initiates, this means you too.

Within our order, a long while back it seems like at this point, we (the members of this temple) voted to create sub-groups and forums for the groups for the different sub-classes of Jedi.

Guardian, Consular, and Sentinel.

Each class has their own forums, styles of learning, and their own focuses, though they all share some common ground.

More information about this can be found in the following thread in the FAQ:

http://www.templeofthejediforce.org/m ... martfaq/faq.php?faqid=137

At present, the groups sub-forums can only be viewed, replied to, and new threads started by apprentices & above that have chosen the corresponding sub-class as their own (with the exception of Masters who can see/respond/post anywhere they please for the most part).

The winds of change seem to be blowing though. The discussion we want to bring to your attention is thus:

Show this change? Should we open the forums to be viewed by more than just those of that specialization? If so, who should be able to view what? Who should be able to post & where?

In this poll (which will be used as a voting tool for ease of tallying up the responses) I have presented some options for us to consider. At the end of the voting period (roughly 2 weeks) the change with the majority vote will be worked on and changed to reflect the choice this community has made.

I will try to be thorough in the options I present, but if I miss something, please comment below.

Do we redo the discussion here, or is this strictly for voting? Because the discussion was pretty heavy in that other thread, and it could get messy doing it all over again here.

My vote is: make all three sub-forums for the specializations viewable at least for apprentices and knights, if not initiates as well. Also, it could be benefitial if knights of any specialization in addition to have them viewable, also could reply/but not start threads in the sub-forum, for better feedback options. But that's in my mind a secondary.

Edit: Was there meant to be an actual clickable poll with this thread? Cause I didn't see one, hence why I didn't think of it first and voted here. If there was meant to be a clickable voting poll I'll do that as soon as it's up.

Strictly voting. The discussion thread is here:

http://www.templeofthejediforce.org/m ... t_id=75090#forumpost75090

The vote is to take place in the poll above the thread. Apparently the thread posts before I had finished making the actual poll that was to be attached to it. (Good to know, as I had no idea.)

Greetings Each Bows

I think all three should be open to anyone who wishes to look. After all we having nothing to hide and everything to gain from those that wish to explore.

I like them as they are. The only thing really needed is to make sure people who have access to them actually start using them for training. Nothing is really being hidden as eventually you get access to all three when you reach Master.

Bump: if you've not used the poll above the thread to place your vote yet, please take the time to do so.

Hmmm as I can see, the votes are rather divided. We indeed need more votes people!

Bump!

The voting is closed, and it appears that :

Open them to Apprentices and above! (Apprentices and above can view/post)

Won by a hairs breadth. The corresponding changes will be made shortly.

I think I have it updated, if any of the knights and apprentices would be willing to check for me.
