This is one of my all time favorite TED Talks: https://www.ted.com/talks/benjamin_zan ... on/transcript?language=en
Benjamin Zander: "The Transformative Power of Classical Music."

Zander is funny, charasmatic, and he speaks straight from his heart. The way he talks about being a composer and a conductor, and the way he transfers those skills and lessons to life are surprising and worth listening to. Or reading the transcript of you're not the video type, though it's more fun to hear him play the piano.

What surprises me most is his perspective and manner of looking at things and at life. Here's his opening line, just to hook you in:
"Probably a lot of you know the story of the two salesmen who went down to Africa in the 1900s. They were sent down to find if there was any opportunity for selling shoes, and they wrote telegrams back to Manchester. And one of them wrote, 'Situation hopeless. Stop. They don't wear shoes.' And the other one wrote, 'Glorious opportunity. They don't have any shoes yet.'"
