My belief has always been in karma. That everything we experience is cause and effect. Just because the cause isn't known to us doesn't mean there is no cause, it means we haven't discovered it yet. Nothing just happens on it's own without something causing it to happen on some level.

This video presents the idea that depression is a by-product of infection in the body. I do believe that eating and drinking foods that weaken the immune system like processed sugars and pops allow the spread of infections in the body. Just remember a Jedi uses the Force for knowledge and defense which includes health and healing.

This is a story about depression... and an important mechanism that emerging research shows may have a very interesting relationship with this condition that affects so many people. That mechanism is systemic inflammation.

Inflammation can be caused by emotional/social stress, poor diet, sedentary lifestyle, lack of sleep and more. While we may find out that there's more going on in this condition than *just* inflammation, as a potential therapeutic target for a lifestyle intervention, inflammation holds a lot of promise. This is because it is something that is easily biologically quantifiable, affected by a wide variety of lifestyle changes... and also because evidence shows that low inflammation also has a very important relationship with successful aging and health in general.
