How Dr. Daniel Amen Repairs the Brain with Healthy Living

This guy is good and worth researching. He talks about the brain and how we receive very little life-skills in making sure we feed our brains correctly for better mental health.

In this informative talk about brain health, Dr. Daniel G. Amen makes a powerful case for preventative living through healthy habits. In a time where bodies are expanding and brains are shrinking, he calls this game-changing lifestyle The Brain Warrior’s Way.

The plan focuses on diet and exercise and delivers results in not only physical but also scientific proof. In a series of images, Amen shows several shrunken brains that with a proper lifestyle, expand to a healthier mass in a matter of months.

“You just have to make a series of really smart decisions, and ask yourself every day, ‘Is what I’m doing today good for my brain, or bad for it?’ ” –Dr. Daniel Amen

The brain is the most important instrument we have. A damaged brain cripples us to the point of needing help eventually just to take care of ourselves. I've also read that mental and physical states can be passed on to our children as DNA isn't static. It's constantly being updated based on our current states.

Dr. Amen is one of the few doctors who actually scans the brain to see the physical effects of diet and physical injuries that can result in depression, behavioral, emotional, or physical problems. He also lists foods and activities that can harm as well as repair the brain.

Modern psychiatry is the only profession that doesn't look at the object they specialize in, the brain. It's based on procedures from around 1840. Solving problems through medications then adjusting medications based on the results.

So at the very least find out what is most harmful to your brains and cut it out or cut down on it. Find out what's good for your brain and add those things to your lifestyle. You're brain will thank you for it and serve you well when you need it the most. The good news is that I've read that most conditions are reversible with lifestyle adjustments.
